The mission of the Clean Chesapeake Coalition, an association of local governments, is to pursue improvement to the water quality of the Chesapeake Bay in a prudent and fiscally responsible manner.

Accounting for Growth (AfG) is a State program that will require pollution from new development to be offset by onsite pollution reduction practices, purchasing pollution “credits” from offsite pollution reduction practices in the watershed, and/or paying into a “fee-in-lieu” program.  The cost of development in Caroline County may increase significantly once AfG is implemented.
